Round table on Monitoring War Crimes held

The necessity of effective prosecution of war crimes by strengthening regional cooperation and the prosecution of persons responsible command were the key issues of the round table held on Wednesday, 14 March 2012 in Zagreb, organized by Documenta, Civic Committee for Human Rights and the Centre for Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights.

"It will be hard to find a lasting peace if all those who committed war crimes are not punished. Every crime is a crime and must be punished, and it is important to separate the politics of war crimes, said Croatian President Ivo Josipović in his speech.

These three organizations, which together systematically monitor war crimes trials in Croatia and the region since 2005, recently published and presented an Annual Report on War Crimes Trials in 2011.
