Round table "Justice for All Victims"
We
invite you to a round table entitled "Together for the rights of all
victims" to be held in Bjelovar, Hotel Central, on Thursday 29 March at 17h.
We will talk about key issues such as the prosecution of
war crimes, prosecution of terrorist acts and pecuniary damages,
legislative initiatives for the rights of victims, and will present
the results of research on the needs of civilian victims of war and
guide to the victim. The
roundtable will gather a number representatives of victims' organizations, human rights organizations, the judiciary, prosecutors,
police and media.

- Centre for Dealing with the past, together with partner its
organizations, Pravda Bjelovar, Miramida Center Groznjan, Center for
Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights and Delfin Pakrac, implement the
project "Together for the rights of all victims - the empowerment of
civil society organizations to explore the facts and advocating for reparations. " The
project focuses on research, advocacy for victims' rights based on the
results of research and transfer of knowledge about methods of coping
with the past in communities, and financially supported by the National
Foundation for Civil Society Development.
In
advocating the compensation for all victims have started from the
resolution of the UN General Assembly 60/147, entitled Basic Principles
and Guidelines on the Right to a Remedy and Reparation for victims of
serious violations of international human rights law and serious
violations of international humanitarian law.
We
want to increase public awareness of the importance of establishing the
facts and the compensation of all civilian war victims through public
events in the places where they are active partners of the organization,
participation in the campaign to compensate all victims of war and work
together to develop policies aimed at compensation for all victims of
war. We
believe that the activities and results contribute to the development
of human security, democratic society and the rule of law in the
Republic of Croatia.
